Amanda’s Waiting

Just Lay

Doll Bug

Amanda’s Waiting is a pop band who desperately wants to be something more. Grace Millo’s songs sound something akin to Tori Amos played with acoustic guitars. It would be so easy to dismiss Amanda’s Waiting as pretentious arty crap, but there’s something about the record that keeps me coming back to it. I’m not sure if it’s lead vocalist Minx’s haunting voice or the aura off the disc. It’s sort of like some foods: It sounds good, looks good, or smells good, but once you give it a taste, you find you actually like it.
