Admiral Twin

Mock Heroic

Mojo

I love this. Why? I’m not real sure, exactly! It’s not amazing guitar work, not a monumental vocal range, not extreme writing. It’s actually very “normal,” but that’s what makes it so good. It’s the kind of record you learn the words to while you’re driving and you just pray to the god of air waves that a Top 40 station doesn’t put anything from it on their playlist (they always ruin the good stuff). The songs vary, which is really a nice change from the usual one tune/one message/one rotation CD. They may be fake heroes, but their music is real, and that’s evident in the first track and the last. “You don’t have to say you’re sorry/I don’t want to make you a liar.” If only that were true… Rating: Worth a shot in the dark and really, I’m not lying!
