The Fontanelles

INIT

Alpha Street

Okay… first, I must warn you to NOT confuse this band with Fontanelle (the Portland band featuring ex-members of Jessamine), just as you should never confuse the Waxwings with Seattle’s Waxwing. Just don’t do it. Second, the Fontanelles do remind me of Throwing Muses, but maybe more psychedelic-pop-influenced. The female vocals just hit me in that way. When the male vocals come in, there’s a slightly more garage-touched sound coming in. Still, that psyched-out thing, but more go-go girls in the grease pit. The garage rave-up like a hot-rod surf safari. Dig it.
