Home for the Holidays
Martha Stewart Living
You’d hardly recognize the Compound. Artlos picked up a copy of Martha Stewart’s Home for the Holidays on a supply run to Wal-Mart, and it’s like the whole camp is transformed. Some of the new recruits have frosted their grenades with silver spray paint, and I swear they look like pinecones in fresh-fallen snow! The sound of Greg Lake’s “I Believe In Father Christmas” and Dan Fogelberg’s “What Child Is This?” blares tinnily from the intercom system, a vast improvement from the Messages of Directed Anger. Even Mrs. Leader is getting into it — she says for Christmas dinner we can have some protein! I’m not sure what that is, but it must be good.
Anyway, I have to go. Some of the fellas are making wreaths from razor wire, and I promised I’d help. It’s just like Christmas at the Old Compound! Hugs to sis. Your son,
