Music From the Original Motion Picture Score

The key word in this one is “score.” This is the score as written by Hans Zimmer, and not the soundtrack with Limp Bizkit, Metallica, etc. If your mission is to find all the music in the movie that wasn’t used for the sole purpose of luring the “radio-hip” audience, you’ve come to the right place. The ‘track is by no means limited to one specific type of music, but the recurring style has a strong Spanish influence, and uses mostly acoustic guitars. Contrastingly, track five is a 38-second version of the “Mission: Impossible Theme” that makes Limp Bizkit’s hit sound like it was done by a boy band. Track ten does the same. Then there’s “Bio-Techno,” which sounds like a cross between the music of Atari Teenage Riot and the London Philharmonic. The other songs vary in style from almost operatic to ambient. Overall, it’s a great background CD for those times that you want to hear good music without dealing with your friends singing along. Or maybe you’re one of the weirdos who collects the score recordings from as many movies as possible. In that case, this one is a must have.
