Moodswing

This jazzy, indie-swinging trio moves from high flying to a slow surface soar. Sometimes something strange comes out of the mix, like a hipster version of Ben Folds Five jamming with Pavement, but it’s hard to explain. It rocks, but not in any normal sense of the word. The third song is spoken like a dramatic fairy tale over Sonic Youth-style pop, while on song number six, the bass kicks in all funky, low, and grooving, but is quickly covered by some distorted vocals and chord-crushing guitar. Like a throwback to No Wave, but the vocals keep it now… The singer sounds way too cute to be from New York.
