Blush 66

Domecstasy

Star Cross’d Productions

Although I usually shy away from heavily produced albums, I have to admit that I was quickly hooked by Blush 66. Their sound and style is quite reminiscent of Garbage, and vocalist Laura Jean, while not blessed with Shirley Manson’s pipes, still knows how to sell a song and has a solid command of her range. Her voice is intoxicating, and her songs are sweetly addictive. The production by Bob Kirschner and Eddie Plank is lush. Despite some prejudices going in, I found Blush 66•s Domecstacy to be a rather pleasant surprise.
