Concerts for a Landmine Free World

Various Artists

Vanguard

Sponsored by the Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation, this CD is full of hits your parents might enjoy. Mary Chapin Carpenter, Emmylou Harris, and Kris Kristofferson join in with some others to bring a folky collection of vintage songs with a live feel. Nothing on this album hit home or struck a chord in my musical palate; it just sat in my CD player, in slot number five, and spurted out lyrics I knew nothing of and tunes I didn’t personally enjoy. Old is one thing – old music is classic and enjoyable – but this CD left a lot to be desired. Too much, to be exact. It might make an okay gift for a fan of any of the above listed artists, otherwise, steer clear unless you need some new napping music. Frankly, it’s rather sleep inducing.
