Dynamite Boy

Somewhere In America

Fearless

These guys were my faves on the Fearless Records tour last year, despite being low on the bill. Great pop sensibilities and actually intelligent lyrics. I also like it that there’s someone left who can still turn a rhyme. Nice backing grrl/boy vox on a couple tracks by fellow Texans from Cruiserweight (whom I will have to make a point of checking out). I could live without the obligatory “sensitive acoustic guitar” song, but even that is better than most of those floating around.

Combine this very solid album with a winning stage presence and genuine likeability, and D-Boy allows me to use the term “pop punk” without cringing. And that•s a good thing.
