Congratulations On Your Decision to Become a Pilot

Aisle 2

The CD starts out with a crash right into piano-licked guitar overdrive crash down waves. The vocals slide in, against the drums mathematical rock roll, and cry out straight and angular. Kind of like slightly Shellac meeting up with a Pavement groove and throwing down some post punk moves, effortless, and then hit some more hardcore noise. Yeah, like Math Punk… with the attention to melodies and dynamic sonic guitar work pulling the music far above mediocrity. The nods to Evol-era Sonic Youth may not be intentional, but they are beautiful.
