Innocence From Hell
Baphomet/Necropolis
I suppose that having a lot of extra money resulting from the extreme success of your band gives one plenty of freedom to complete those projects you always wanted to finish… Well, this is Pantera’s Phil Anselmo doing his “damndest” to create the most evil album of all time. It’s billed as “recorded under the influence of Wild Turkey, Weed and Black Candles.” Innocence From Hell is best comprehended under similar influences. The song list didn’t come with my copy of the CD, and frankly, it doesn’t matter: there are no “hits” to recognize, the only indication that a song has changed is the odd snippet from a Satan movie based on the life of Aleister Crowley or Anton LaVey (note: most of the music is credited to Anton Crowley). “Killjoy” pretty much vomits out thin, screeching, ear-piercing, black metal incomprehensible vocals, accompanied by Opal Enthroned on keyboards. Only for the blackest of blackest metal substance abusers.
