The Low Power Hour

Made up primarily by the duo of David Arbury and Carleton Ingram, Roto punches out some quirky East Coast art rock that hits somewhere between the rawness of The Make Up and a smooth kind of No Wave sound. There’s something about the dynamics that reminds me of Unrest, but the vocals and guitar lines hit a lot lower. I should probably recognize a few more of the names of moonlighting musicians on this release, but I see John Davis of Q and not U has made some contributions here, as well as members of Edie Sedgwick and Landspeedrecord.
