The Dingees

The Dingees

The Crucial Conspiracy

Tooth And Nail

This disc opens with the track “Spray Paint,” a song that has anthem written all over it, a sing-along anthem that has the band members trading off the lyrics and setting the listener up for the music to follow. From this point on, the songs incorporate the better elements of rock, punk, ska and even reggae without ever growing stale. Listening to this album, I was unsure how to describe this band without using such hackneyed references to The Clash or Rancid. While this band may be influenced by these artists, they are certainly not derivative in the slightest. At times they stray into ska territory and at times they are raging hardcore, yet no matter what, they retain a fresh sound that defies easy pigeonholing. This disc is full of positive, upbeat energy and good vibes and reminds me of classic bands like 7 Seconds or Minor Threat. This is music that you can get good and sweaty to dancing around, bouncing off the walls, and at the same time feel empowered to get off your ass and make a positive change in the world. For music fans tired of the tired and self-absorbed bitter posturing in the current music around, invest in The Dingees. This music could change your life.
