The Multiple Cat

The Golden Apple Hits

Plow City

With main man Pat Stolley taking the helm, mixing with the eight other musicians appearing on this CD, The Multiple Cat moves through some piano grooving pop songs. A collection of tunes recorded over the past three years, the CD throws in some smooth lounge, a bit of cocktail exotica, mellow indie rock, and a whole lotta pop song sensibility. Sometimes the vocals remind me of The Cure, if Robert Smith sang with Ben Folds Five. An interesting mix. Strange sounds are thrown in places, adding an edge, but not constantly. Some songs move into straightforward guitar quiet movement, showing just good songs. Steady drumbeat and relaxing words and the world is peaceful.
