Duotang

The Bright Side

Mint

A strong and full third release from the Duotang duo. Dynamic, you might say. Rod (bass/keys/vocals) and Sean (drums/talking) punch out a nonstop energetic rush ride into gritty garage pop. It’s dirty and suave, and yes, it’s Canadian. The songs tell stories, almost literature moving through the drive and fuzz of strummed strings. There’s the occasional burst of a guest hitting the rhythm with a trumpet or sax, and of course, a saw. You can’t really go wrong with a saw• even in a two-person punk-touched melodic outfit like Duotang.
