Pitch-A-Tent
Mellow, slightly slo-core, indie big band rock. By big band, I mean eight members, plus special guests on a couple of songs, which brings it up to eleven. Some strings and horns float between the rhythms, which move from a Spain-like romanticism (I mean the band, not the place) to a Luna-like jangle. Sometimes the songs hit like a perfect combination of the two. The almost desert slow roll with a soft Galaxie 500 touch on the vocals. It makes you sigh, and when the violin hits, it brings a soft tear to your eye. Sad motel music for the morning after a perfect night when you’re on the way to anywhere other than where you are. It’s a long drive, but this band makes it move like a sunset.
