The Album Leaf

One Day I’ll Be on Time

Tiger Style

Twelve emotionally liquid tracks that flow from the speakers, making you dream like a perfect Sunday. Jimmy Lavalle, perhaps better known for his work with the moody instrumental band Tristeza, has found some moody instrumental places that he can only travel to alone. Delicate and deep piano work, mixing with sounds and samples like static and ocean hiss, blends in with the atmosphere. Some drum tracks keep the sleepy eyes moving to a still awake beat, but the music keeps the pulse at a steady mode of ecstatic relaxation. Guitars slide like anguish, and the notes fall soft like gentle smiles.
