Seldom

Places I Haven’t Seen

Casa

This West Coast trio offers up a sweet and melodic five song EP that immediately holds its own alongside other Northwest bands currently enjoying critical praise. With Matthews on vocals and Wurlitzer, and members of Pedro The Lion and The Vogue backing him up on drums and guitar, Seldom creates a nice, honest, melodic world of sound. There are definitely comparisons to bands like Pedro The Lion, Damien Jurado, and even a hint or two of Death Cab For Cutie, but the depth that this three piece pulls out of the songs also moves towards bands like Low, though not as slow. Just delicately beautiful and aching. Complex twists through music that are played with a grace that makes it sound so simple, and the echoes of the last song linger on.
