The Oranges Band

Nine Hundred Miles of Fucking Hell

Morphius

Play loud, oh so fucking loud. The Oranges Band present us five tracks (including the misleadingly-titled “Instrumental”) that show not all the tricks in the guitar-bass-drums bag have been exhausted. “Sweater Weather” is a driving piece with a wonderfully stumbling chorus that pulls through at the last minute, while the aforementioned not-entirely-instrumental uses a couple of moments of silence to brilliant effect. Fans of Polvo, early Archers of Loaf and those who could stand a less technically-inclined Don Caballero, start counting pennies.
