Six Degrees

Despite the obviously inhuman recent actions of a group of Arabic people, we cannot discriminate against a whole nationality. Six Degrees Records’ Arabian Travels transports you into the undulating, pounding movement of Arabic dance music, and you can’t help but want to move to it. Arabic music has long been said to lift the spirits of its listeners into a higher consciousness, and while I’m not so sure that this CD is capable of that, it is definitely pleasing. Exotic and spicy, mysterious, and at times even a bit clubby, it’s metaphysical and very cultural. Don’t blame the whole of Arabic people for a handful of heartless… well, you know what I’m talking about. This CD (released on September 18th, oddly enough) is going to be a tough sell, but if you enjoy world music, it will make you very happy regardless.
