Ascend

Sharing a producer with The Gin Blossoms and sharing a recording studio with 3 Doors Down and R.E.M. will get you to think twice about passing them up, but generally speaking, it’s much better for a band to just outright suck then to sort of be… there. The writing is interesting: “Don’t look at me/I have a complex cause I’m so little/no sympathy/for the monkey in the middle/that’s me,” but that’s about where it ends. Try Grand if you like all the mediocre slush you hear on the radio and definitely don’t think twice about getting this if you’re look for something new and exciting. It’s just… there.
