WWF Tough Enough
Music From the Hit Series
The recent sweep of reality TV in the last year has been astounding, but possibly one of the oddest shows born lately was MTV’s WWF Tough Enough. In case you happened to miss an episode or twenty, the basis is that a large group of very out of shape people (most of them obsessive WWF fans) compete with a mere handful of actual fit WWF prospects for wrestling contracts. 13 finalists live and compete together in a sort of beefed up Real World meets Survivor house and show off to the likes of Stone Cold Steve Austin and Mick Foley. The show did all right, but the soundtrack from it is packed full of all the aggression of a hundred couch potatoes embarrassing themselves on national TV for a small shot at fame (and returning home even more disappointed couch potatoes to become fans of those that beat them). Sporting “Smooth Criminal” by Alien Ant Farm, “Bodies” by Drowning Pool, “Dig” from Mudvayne, and what should have been the theme song, “Stupify” by Disturbed. Also includes #1 hits from Godsmack, Powerman 5000, Saliva, Deftones, Buckcherry, and Papa Roach. This is a must have for a fan of one or more of these groups — an unprecedented collection of wrestle-friendly angst tunes sure to make you want to body slam something.
