O.L.C. is a collection of Rah Rah Records’ finest hip-hop acts. The whole CD is an energetic, fresh look at some really great underground hip-hop, featuring The Beat Junkies, Outkast-like Shaydie 3rd Degree, and Phats Bossilini. Also on O.L.C., classical music and rap blender Kontaijuss, the Barber Shop Emcees, the lone female Medusa (with Aceyalone, doing “Yes”), and Styles Of Beyond, who prove that rap is poetry, poetry is rap with “Word Perfect.” If your Jay-Z CD is starting to wear out and you’re in dire need of something new, this would be a good place to start.
