A Six Degrees Collection of Chilled Grooves

Six Degrees

For the past two years Six Degrees has set college radio and music connoisseurs on their heads with their unique brand of electronic world music. The crossroads where past-meets-future and east-meets-west has set the world afire, and has set other labels scurrying around to contribute their own flames to the frenzy. The music has been so good, one doesn’t really mind this self-laudatory repackaging.

For those of you unfamiliar with the Six Degrees sound, there is no better place to start than this “collection of chilled grooves.” By no means deception in advertising, this compilation is for anyone who likes cooling out with an edge. Michael Franti and Spearhead’s “Skin on the Drum,” Zuco 103’s “Fome Total,” and Sylk 130’s (you know, King Britt) “Romeo’s Fate” are real stand-outs. Other icy tempo jams are contributed by DJ Cam, Bob Holroyd, dZihan & Kamien, and 2000’s sweetheart, Bebel Gilberto. This is a real treat.
