Toby Keith

Pull My Chain

TKO

The eighth album from country superstar Toby Keith, Pull My Chain, counteracts the serious country stereotype. Filled with fun songs about one night stands, talking about yourself, the good things about marriage and women drinking whiskey, it’s about as rural as they come, but done with an edge that leaves you guessing exactly where Keith fits into the normal country society. There are still a few whiny songs, such as “I Can’t Take You Anywhere,” “Tryin’ To Matter,” and “You Didn’t Have as Much to Lose,” but overall, Pull My Chain is one giant cowboy booted step in the right direction. Don’t miss “I’m Just Talkin’ About Tonight,” “I Wanna Talk About Me,” and the bonus track, “Gimmie 8 Seconds.” Toby Keith has dedicated Pull My Chain to his late father, to whom he accredits his wittiness. Whether you are a huge fan or just curious about country, Keith is a good place to start.
