Paris Lounge

Volume 2

Wagram

Now, am I really supposed to believe that Paris is this cool. I mean, I’m willing to believe that it is cool – but not the dopeness of this two-CD set. I mean, this second volume of the Parisian night club series is as chill as Serge Gainsbourgh on ice. Full of smoky, slick grooves by Helena, Doctorolive, Next Evidence, Zimpala, Variety Lab, Brady, and Patchworks; freaky-deaky entertainment by Curtis, Coco Suma, and Charles Schillings & Pompon F; and contributions from a bunch of our usual cool cool cats like I:Cube, Alex Gopher, Bertrand Burgalat, Etienne de Crecy, and Williams Traffic and you have the epitome of schmoove late-night hepsterdom. This set, split between Day and Night, also is trying to convince me that the City of Lights is much cooler when the sun’s in the air. I’m not buying it, but you should seriously contemplate buying this one.
