Satanic Surfers

Unconsciously Confined

Bad Taste

A good decade into their career, Satanic Surfers haven’t been making too much of a wave in the USA but are pretty big on the underground European punk scene, consistently selling loads of albums and playing sold-out shows all over the place. While their name ensures that some confusion will prevail – they are anything but death metal – their music is straight-ahead and kicking old-school punk rock, a cross between Bad Religion and Millencolin with a bit of arena-emo thrown in for good measure. Positive and moving, political and emotional, Satanic Surfers are one of the most likeable prospects on the current independent punk scene, and Unconsciously Confined is a hard-hitting, beautiful album, and their best one yet.
