Black Widows

Stops a Beating Heart

Initial

Seven songs. Thirteen minutes. God bless hardcore.

Raging full on, kind of like old Black Flag, Black Widows play hardcore the only way it should be played. Anti-establishment lyrics shouted with a throat lacerating scream, high octane churning power chords and a pumping rhythm section undergird the whole edifice. Listening to this CD, I envision nitro-burning funny cars, careening out of control.

If you dig hardcore, you’ll like this album. Nothing here too earth-shattering, more of a by the numbers affair. Still, perfect mood music for ripping the blooming buds off your neighbor’s prize winning rose garden. Excuse me now, I think I’ll go destroy something.
