Dead Again – October 20th, 2002

All roads lead to love; these roads converge in the spirit.

by the time that you read this, I will have died already.

it was taught to me by biblical teachers that mankind requires two births – the first that brings him into the world and the spiritual enlightenment that comes with stark, eye-opening truth. an epiphany of the soul.

i believe it holds true for anyone of any race. once you’ve shattered your former reality with the out-of-this-world realization that there’s more to life than just news, weather and sports, that there is a distinctly omniscient Higher Power at work in each of our lives, there is no going back to the way things were. the old man is dead. the new man has awakened. and from there until death does this reformed view last?

that depends upon how far into the depths of the ephiphany you’ve peered.

the second waking death is by far a more profound and stunning experience. it opens up the inescapable possibility that these deaths come in layers. when you’ve got it figured out; that’s when the surface beneath your feet vanishes and once again

you fall.
