The Message is Clear…

Los Angeles-duo Signal play “positive” hard-edged trance that continually fail to make any particular impression during its close to 70-minutes long run. Moving between dreamy soundscapes and harder techno-oriented pieces, Signal somehow still avoid actually bringing much diversity or variation onboard, apart from on the odd tracks that only seem ridiculously out of place. “LFO Child” sticks out like a sore thumb, with its Euro-trashy take on drum n’ bass, but it is the more standard-fare trance material like the moody “Falling Away” and the hard “Let Me In” that dominates. Guaranteed to raise the roof at any trance gathering, but as a studio project, Signal unfortunately fail to pull it off.
