Teledubgnosis

Magnetic Learning Center

Wordsound Recordings

The trio of Ted Parsons, Jason Wolford and Gregory Damien Grinnell should really be proud of themselves. As Teledubgnosis, these three guys have crafted a unique and marvelously entertaining album. Parsons was the drummer for the industrial metal group, Prong; Grinnell has been a part of the ska band The Toasters and the hip-hop/reggae act The Unity 2; and Wolford was the deck master for the Decadent Dub Team. They take their disparate experiences and talents to attack dub. Much like Systemwide, they give the meditative music a real punk edge. Magnetic Learning Center is alive with vivid colors and ear-popping sounds. It•s full of an idiosyncratic energy not found on every dub album. It•s an exciting adventure in a genre that has gone through countless odysseys and innumerable, Madonna-esque transformations. It is groups like Teledubgnosis that push the legacy of Pablo and Tubby into the future. They maintain a true reverence for the music without losing its immensely powerful relevance.
