Eternal Funk

Severn

You don’t get a lot of organ-funk these days. Which makes the Ken Clark Organ Trio’s Eternal Funk worthwhile, if only as a novelty. Featuring keyboardist Clark with Mike Mele on guitar and Steve Chaggaris on drums, this is a somewhat groovy if unmemorable selection of songs in the tradition of Label M’s 2001 compilation of early ’60s organ soul, Have You Had Your Vitamin B-3 Today? But without the sax, and with fewer highlights.
