That’s OK…
…gays have been troubled by Bush for years, so it seems only appropriate he’s now “troubled” by their marriages. Great ‘graphs, with my comments in bold:
“I am troubled by activist judges who are defining marriage…People need to be involved in this decision,” Bush said. “Marriage ought to be defined by the people not by the courts. And I’m watching it carefully.”
I am troubled by activist judges who are defining elections…People need to be involved in this decision, Varkentine says. Presidents ought to be defined by the people not by the courts. And I’m watching this one carefully.
White House spokesman Scott McClellan said Bush recognized that gay marriage is a divisive topic. But, he said, “This is an issue where he believes it is important for people to stand up on principle.”
Well, when a man is right, he’s right.
