CBS News has a story about plunging book sales. Normally I’d use this as an opportunity to tee off on the low literacy rate, but it may not be as bad as it seems.

Lord knows books are something to which I’m truly addicted, but I rarely if ever pay new prices for the books I buy. And most I get from the library anyway, both for financial reasons and because there’s a lot more books I want to read than want to own, anyway. Not to mention those occasional lovely review copies…
