Off Key Melodies

No Idea

Rehasher is a Gainesville supergroup of sorts, featuring members of Less Than Jake and Army of Ponch, the latter being one of most criminally ignored bands in America. Rehasher sounds a lot like Punk in Drublic-era NOFX: fast drumming, melodic guitars, snotty vocals and incredibly tight playing.

Being that it’s 2004, Off Key Melodies should sound dated and stale, given its penchant for the early to mid 1990s. But it doesn’t; it actually rocks my socks off, and I got bored of this type of music years ago. There’s an undeniable urgency and energy in each and every one of the ten tracks on this disc, including their remake of Bowie’s “Suffragette City.”
