Truth to Power

Ah, sweet.

Just the headline alone is great:

GOP Nervously Eyeing Rove and CIA Probe

RON FOURNIER

WASHINGTON – Republicans are nervously watching the fight over Karl Rove’s involvement in a news leak that exposed a CIA officer’s identity, fearing that President Bush’s chief adviser has become a major political problem.

Somewhere Karl’s mom is going “If you had been nicer to those people, they wouldn’t be so mean to you now…”. The problem for bullies (as KR certainly is), is that when they are down, everyone lines up to kick ‘em.

Good. While I still think he’s going to skate, I’ve been wrong before, and the reaction, or rather, the non-reaction from major Republican figures has been interesting. Seems they are either avoiding a sinking ship, or afraid to speak out against the evil witch until they are completely sure the house crushed him.

Note: For a good summation of this affair, try this.
