Truth to Power

Oh Denny boy…

If you look at the line of succession after Bush and Dick, next is Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert. Sibel Edmonds, the FBI translator hired post 9-11 has been under an intense veil of secrecy concerning her allegations about conditions in the FBI, has given an interview to Vanity Fair magazine in which she details the actions of Turkish wiretap targets bribing US officials- including 3rd in line Hastert.

“Edmonds has given confidential testimony inside a secure Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility on several occasions: to congressional staffers, to investigators from the OIG, and to staff from the 9/11 commission,” Rose continues. “Sources familiar with this testimony say that, in addition to her allegations about the Dickersons, she reported hearing Turkish wiretap targets boast that they had a covert relationship with a very senior Republican indeed–Dennis Hastert, Republican congressman from Illinois and Speaker of the House since 1999. The targets reportedly discussed giving Hastert tens of thousands of dollars in surreptitious payments in exchange for political favors and information. “The Dickersons,” says one official familiar with the case, “are just the tip of the iceberg.”

Edmonds has been prohibited from talking under the State Secrets Act- a rarely used and very powerful silencing tool used to protect national security. Evidently someone in the DOJ (which was headed by extremist John Ashcroft at the time, remember) thinks what Sibel knows could damage our country.

Or rather, our current administration. Or, more accurately:

The.Most. Corrupt. Administration. Ever.

Somewhere under the stone of Grant’s tomb, he’s going “Finally! I’m only #2!” These people need to be removed from power as soon as possible. If this allegation is true- and I imagine it is, because you’d have to be a stone fool to attempt to smear the #3 guy in our government- then this is a HUGE story.

Now, as an exercise, attempt to find a mention of this in the MSM, or on a rightwing chat board. Ha.
