EP

self-released

Lastonedone is the pseudonym for LA-based singer/songwriter Isaiah Olsen, and EP is his very promising debut. Danny Wilde of The Rembrandts produced and co-wrote half of this six-song effort, and his flawless production is matched by the sheer quality of Olsen’s material. “Heart On My Sleeve” is the track most likely to grab the ears of A&Rs, with its soaring, uplifting chorus and instantly memorable melody line. The more soulful “Out Of My Hands” showcases the commercial potential evident in Olsen’s voice, and “Meant To Be” shows another side of Olsen’s diversity, with a funky groove and slow-burning hook. The acoustic duo of “If Forever Ends” and “Act Your Mind” show Olsen’s sincere talent in its rawest form, and the stripped down version of “Heart On My Sleeve” that closes the EP powerfully reinforces the potential of his songwriting and voice.

EP should be a great platform for Lastonedone. And with friends as influential as Danny Wilde, surely it won’t be long before Olsen’s music reaches a far wider audience.
