Autumn Days
Cheap Lullaby
Gus Black’s Autumn Days is a collection of sparse, yet deeply affecting and memorable songs from a singer/songwriter of real talent. From the opening bars of the brilliant “Don’t Go Tellin’ The Whole World,” there’s a captivating sense of melancholy, wrapped up in some delicious, slow-burning melodies. It’s a formula repeated on tracks such as the heartfelt “Rollercoaster,” the uptempo “Certain Kind of Light” and the pure pop bliss of “Fire Escape.”
Autumn Days is Black’s fourth album, but with an album this good and with his music previously appearing on Smallville and One Tree Hill, he won’t remain under wraps for too much longer.
