GOP neuters judiciary to protect socialist output
House OKs bill guarding Pledge from courts
WASHINGTON – The House, citing the nation’s religious origins, voted Wednesday to protect the Pledge of Allegiance from federal judges who might try to stop schoolchildren and others from reciting it because of the phrase “under God.”
The legislation, a priority of social conservatives, passed 260-167. It now goes to the Senate where its future is uncertain.</i>
The Pledge of Allegiance was written in 1892 by a socialist named Francis Bellamy, and the phrase “Under God,” was added by Congress and President Eisenhower in 1954 at the urging of the Knights of Columbus, in order to prove the US wasn’t a nation of “godless Communists”.
First, having a national loyality oath and forcing children to recite it to a piece of cloth each day is totalitarian and disturbing. Secondly, the concept that radicals in Congress can attempt to nullify one branch of government by making a law stating such is even more disturbing. But then again, these people in the lunatic fringe of the GOP have no problem with their president gelding both Congress and the courts with his signing statements and judical obstruction, so perhaps they really, really like the snug fit of a yoke.
Why don’t you pledge to uphold the Constitution, and quit wasting our time and money giving a lapdance to crazies in Kansas.
