Truth to Power

Gonzo- pathological liar?

Next time this clown testifies, they should ask him his name first. At least he’d make one accurate – ie, non-falsehood- statement for the day:

Documents contradict Gonzales’ testimony

WASHINGTON – Documents indicate eight congressional leaders were briefed about the Bush administration’s terrorist surveillance program on the eve of its expiration in 2004, contradicting sworn Senate testimony this week by Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.

At a heated Senate Judiciary Committee hearing Tuesday, Gonzales repeatedly testified that the issue at hand was not about the terrorist surveillance program, which allowed the National Security Agency to eavesdrop on suspects in the United States without receiving court approval.

Instead, Gonzales said, the emergency meetings on March 10, 2004, focused on an intelligence program that he would not describe.</em>

I have a theory about Gonzales- impeach him. Its clear he’s committed numerous acts of perjury under oath to Congress, attempted to browbeat a hospitalized John Ashcroft into signing off on domestic spying, and finds the Geneva Convention “quaint”. Getting a majority of Congress creeps to vote to remove him for cause should be easy- and by doing so, you ease into the American mind the concept that this is what happens to liars in our government. So when you go for Cheney and Bush- as you absolutely must, in order to return our country to some sense of normalcy- people don’t think you’re just getting revenge for Clinton. Its a win-win to me.
