Cheney the crazed: Attack Iran

Please, fire up the White House microwaves, STAT!

Cheney urging strikes on Iran

At a news conference Thursday, Bush said Iran had been warned of unspecified consequences if it continued its alleged support for anti-American forces in Iraq. U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Ryan Crocker had conveyed the warning in meetings with his Iranian counterpart in Baghdad, the president said.

Bush wasn’t specific, and a State Department official refused to elaborate on the warning.

Behind the scenes, however, the president’s top aides have been engaged in an intensive internal debate over how to respond to Iran’s support for Shiite Muslim groups in Iraq and its nuclear program. Vice President Dick Cheney several weeks ago proposed launching air strikes at suspected training camps in Iraq run by the Quds force, a special unit of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, according to two U.S. officials who are involved in Iran policy.</em>

We’re all just kidding ourselves to think that King George is debating anything other than a military strike against Iran. The endless drumbeat of war mongering lies worked to get us into Iraq, so why change the plan now? Crazed war profiteer Cheney, well of course he’ll push for war, he makes money off of it.

So when the dust settles, a few (or more…) years from now, and what is left of the American military returns home utterly defeated, many Americans will look back fondly on these times, times before the United States completely overreached its abilities and ground itself into the dirt. Terrorist attacks against us and our allies will markedly increase, gas prices will skyrocket, triggering a deeper recession and we will for all intents become a “used to be” nation, brought down not by radical elements outside our borders, but rather the radicals within.

All of us would be well advised to begin reading accounts of the fall of the British Empire, or the breakup of the USSR. We are a nation of distracted sheep, led to slaughter by lying madmen.
