Singer-songwriter Richard Buckner does nothing but travel. From San Francisco to Edmonton, Alberta to Austin, Texas and now to Brooklyn, Buckner seems to revel in traveling and each song on this 10-track masterpiece is an ode to the road – the pitfalls, roadblocks, and everything else associated with coming and going. His eighth release, “Meadow”, proves why he is at his best when he’s on the move.

“Town” is a moving piece about leaving town and the memories that are left behind, while “Canyon” is just the opposite, more about looking forward to wherever he’s heading next and never looking back. The rest of the album follows a similar path of traveling which could get quite boring, but Buckner has an uncanny knack of subtly grabbing the heart and giving the listener a voyeuristic view of his life.

Buckner is a wanderer documenting his travels in concise, half-hour, 10-song albums and “Meadow” is like his version of Jack Kerouac’s “On the Road”. His weathered and raw voice captures the emotion of a life where home is the next stop and the people met along the way are one-time acquaintances, never to be heard from again.
