Truth to Power

Krautrock legend Klaus Dinger dies

Truly sad news:

Ex-Kraftwerk Drummer Dies

Electronic music pioneer and inventor of the Motorik beat Klaus Dinger died March 21, four days before his 62nd birthday.

Dinger was brought into Kraftwerk by founders Ralf Hutter and Florian Schneider to replace original drummer Andreas Hohman, before the band made the decision to become an entirely electronic outfit.

In 1971 Dinger left the group along with member Michael Rother to form krautrock band Neu! and then La Düsseldorf, which released a string of albums in the late ’70s and ’80s. </em>
