Truth to Power

Why am I forced to pay for tea bagging nutjobs?

“tax_day_tea_party”

The Atlanta Tea Party is happening this Wednesday, Tax Day April 15th from 7:00 pm – 10:10 pm in front of the steps at the Georgia State Capitol.

Wear RED!!! This will stand out for photos and media and it symbolizes that Congress is running our country into the red with high deficits.

We still need donations. Since Sean Hannity has announced and promoted the Atlanta Tea Party so much, our needs have grown. We need money to have a stage built, audio-visual equipment, supplies and many other items. We plan to have big screen TV’s so everyone will have good view of the event no matter where they are standing. Sean Hannity will be broadcasting his show live. America will be watching the Atlanta Tea Party and we want to have a big impact. We have many speakers lined up, including Former House Majority Leader Dick Armey, John Rich, of the country act “ Big and Rich”, and many others. “Joe The Plumber” might even stop by. Our focus is on the grassroots movement so we don’t have big name sponsors. We depend on you, the grassroots. Our estimated costs just for the stage and audio-visual equipment is $ 25,000 and so far we have raised less than $15,000. </em>

So let me get this straight. A group of knuckledraggers, spurred into action via Fox News and Sean Hannity, with the sobbing psychopath Glenn Beck providing comic relief, have rallied to protest high deficits and taxes on the steps of the Georgia state capitol building. A building that I, as a Georgia taxpayer, pay to maintain.

‘Cuse me? Exactly why is a public building being used for this? Now if Dick Armey and his corporate backers (the real “grassroots” behind this charade) want to stir up the masses to make sure they continue to enjoy bailout money and ineffectual regulation of their businesses, I’m sure they could have found a private venue at which to hold their Dirty Sanchez…oh, I mean Tea Bagging party.

And since when do right wing nutballs give a shit about deficits? They didn’t when Saint Ronnie tripled the deficit, and who can forget Cheney’s “Deficits don’t matter” back-handed dismissal of questions about how he and Bush sodomized, oh sorry, tea bagged the economy? Now you care? After pissing away trillions of dollars in a sandbox in Iraq or the mountains of Afghanistan, now you suddenly care about government spending?

Now, to be clear, I too am opposed to the heaps of money my government seems hellbent to throw at the very same shortsighted greedheads who pumped up the economy using Excel spreadsheet voodoo and who then ran squealing back to me the taxpayer when it all was shown to be nothing more than hot air and circle jerking among the big boys of Wall Street. I say take all the money and pay off everyones mortgage and credit cards, and start the fuck over. But I’m equally mad that the state of Georgia, headed by the theocratic buffoon Sonny “I’ll Pray For Rain On A Day When Rain Is Forecast, You Folks Don’t Have The Right To Vote On Sunday Booze Sales, Jesus Built My Hotrod” Perdue jackass, feels that a viable use of taxpayer dollars is to host a gathering of anti-state, anti-sense pissed off and stupid couch potatoes WITH MY DAMN MONEY.

Here’s my suggestion. Once this event starts, however many goons they manage to entice to the capital, lets take some of that left-over “free speech zone” fencing from the Bush administration, and corral these goofs in. Throw in a few porta johns, and let them stand out there for months, listening to one pudgy white moron after another lie to their face about shit they are too stupid to understand, and let the rest of us- you know, those of us who work to pay the taxes so you can have balls smacked against your chin– free to move about the city without you numbskulls clogging the way, gaping at Fox on the big screen and nattering nonsense about Obama not being a US citizen. Fair enough?
