Truth to Power

Lets try a 10 million dollar fine for courthouse commandment mor

As a citizen and a taxpayer, I think we have better things to waste our time and money on than removing the various attempts at self-imposed victimhood, commonly known as ten commendment statues.

They are, always have been and always will be, illegal on public property. ILLEGAL.

Illegal where any amount of taxpayer money is used. ILLEGAL.

Federal Court Says Religious Monument At Oklahoma Courthouse Is Unconstitutional

DENVER – A unanimous federal appeals court yesterday ruled that county commissioners in Haskell County, Oklahoma unconstitutionally sought to promote their personal religious beliefs by erecting a Ten Commandments monument on the front lawn of the county’s courthouse. The decision by the U.S. Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals comes in a challenge filed by the American Civil Liberties Union and the ACLU of Oklahoma on behalf of a local resident.

“This decision is a victory for the cherished American value of religious freedom,” said Daniel Mach, Director of Litigation for the ACLU Program on Freedom of Religion and Belief. “The government should not be in the business of promoting religious viewpoints. In our country, people should be free to express their faith – or to exercise their right to hold no belief at all – without government interference or favoritism.”</em>

Now these insipid “exercises of religious freedom” have been occuring for decades, and as long as they basically cost the “victims” nothing more than the fee to get the thing created, they will continue forever. So, how about this. Let’s make it a ten million dollar fine to erect a religious monument on public grounds. Go ahead, be a victim. Knock yourself out. Oh, don’t have ten million?

Then put your statue on your own front yard…not mine.

Evolve people, evolve.
