The Silent Years
Let Go EP
After three albums spawning rabid fans and rave reviews, The Silent Years have birthed a bouncing bundle of an EP called Let Go, and it’s quite the arrival!
From the dynamic and playful drums, to the singable choruses and group shouting, The Silent Years fire light and joy into the heart of any listener. “Taking Drugs at the Amusement Park” sounds just like it — stoned on a merry-go-round, spinning around and singing out gibberish. Even on a slower track like “Forest Fire,” xylophones and whistles keep it light and airy as bonfire ash. Their single “Madame Shocking” hops around on a cello, glockenspiel, and Josh Epstein’s falsetto bringing silly optimism: “Focus on the future / all eyes on the future… we know it’s all right.” Anyone who doesn’t agree that Let Go is great fun and merriment has no soul and will surely die from spontaneous combustion.
When you’re ready to Let Go, The Silent Years’ll be there to welcome you with weightless music.
