Truth to Power

What if the name was Gore, not Cheney?

Cheney Gore Is Linked to Concealment of C.I.A. Project

The Central Intelligence Agency withheld information about a secret counterterrorism program from Congress for eight years on direct orders from former Vice President Dick Cheney Al Gore, the agency’s director, Leon E. Panetta, has told the Senate and House intelligence committees, two people with direct knowledge of the matter said Saturday.

The report that Mr. Cheney Gore was behind the decision to conceal the still-unidentified program from Congress deepened the mystery surrounding it, suggesting that the Bush Clinton administration had put a high priority on the program and its secrecy. </em>

Go ahead and imagine the furor that would erupt if the name had been Gore instead of Cheney. Every jackal in a Brooks Brothers suit that could be crammed into the Faux News studios would be calling for impeachments and investigations because (rightly so) the security of the country had been lessened by a treasonous VP.

But since our media is still wearing its GOP and Me! kneepads, we get crap like this.

Dick Cheney is an enemy of America. He should be tried and imprisoned.
