Your Side Now

Ready.Set.Records!

Trent Dabbs is a prolific Nashville-based singer-songwriter who has built up quite a reputation with his three previous solo records, various co-writing credits, and involvement with the critically acclaimed Ten out of Tenn collective. On Your Side Now Dabbs showcases just why he is in demand as a writer for artists such as Mat Kearney with a succession of well-crafted easy listening pop tunes with an impeccable production and a rich musical diversity.

The kooky pop of opening track “Wake Up Call” benefits from a supporting cast of Ten Out of Tenn members, while the memorable chorus of “Rain or Shine” clearly demonstrates Dabbs’ pop sensibilities.

Tracks like “Wishful Thinking” and “Nothing Left to Leave” may lack a similar melodic cutting edge, but redemption comes in the form of the brilliant “Dear Jane,” the excellent title track, and the atmospheric “Inside These Lines.”

Overall, Your Side Now is a very strong effort and marks out Dabbs as a name to watch in independent music circles in 2010.
