Straight No Chaser

Would you change your name for $100,000?

This Texas DJ is. Dallas morning DJ Terry Dorsey was given an offer he couldn’t refuse. Eddie Gossage, the owner of the Texas Motor Speedway in Dallas called in to Dorsey’s morning show and offered the 2009 Acadamy of Country Music’s Disc Jockey of the Year $100,000 to legally change his name to texasmotorspeedway.com for one year and get a permanent texasmotorspeedway.com tattoo. The host of the Dorsey Gang on 96.3 KSCS took him up on the offer and for Gossage, its genius. He gets free publicity, multiple times every morning for the low price of $100,000.

I’d change my name, but I wouldn’t get the tattoo. Unless I could but it on the bottom of my foot so I wouldn’t have to ever look at it…and he paid for it. Otherwise, I’d pass. The money would be nice, but I’d hate to have to sign anything. That’s not worth my time. Would you? Let me know in the comments.
